The Night Before Christmas

The Night Before Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas books! It makes me feel like the holidays are getting closer and closer. It's kind of special because I don't get to read it until christmas time. The Night Before Christmas is a great book! I recommend it for young children but of course anyone can read it. It's also great for parents to read it to children too.

The Nutcracker

Have you ever heard about the Nutcracker Ballet? Well it's also a book! I really like reading the nutcracker because it's not like I can go to the ballet every day. I think it's fun to see and read the illustrations and the writing because it's reminds me of Christmas and the Holidays.

If you haven't heard about the Nutcracker, it's about a girl named Clara. Her parents are hosting a christmas party. They invite friends and family to come and celebrate. Clara receives a nutcracker from her mischievous God father. Then her little brother Fritz takes a hold of it and tries to grab it out of Clara's hand. They fight over it Clara trying to get it back... all of the sudden the nutcracker breaks. But Clara's God father comes to the rescue and the nutcracker is fixed. Later when the guest leave clara goes to bed but finds rats rooming around. Then she starts shrinking and her Christmas grows bigger. Then her Nutcracker comes alive and brings her to the land of sweets where she meets the Snow Queen, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. She goes on wonderful sweet adventurous.

Little Woman

Little Woman is a great books by Louisa May Alcott. It is about four girls that are sisters. Their father is in the war and their mother is very busy working to earn money, while the girls try to do the same.
The oldest sister is Meg, she has a very kind personality and is very generous. Next is Jo (short for Josephine) she is a "tom girl" and very tough and energetic. Then there is Beth, quiet, kind and very caring and sensitive. Then last but not least is Amy, boastful, a little sassy, but mostly kind and very fun. It is very exciting and fun to read! It tells about everything they do in their life.

Their are different book series about them, like there are books on  just the sisters. There are books about what they do. And there is the first original book. The original book has 2 or 3 parts, and it is super cool. Please click HERE to purchase the book.

Rainbow Magic Books

First of all I don't really read the Rainbow Magic books, but my little siblings really like them so I decided to do a book review on the books.

Rainbow Magic books are about two girls named Kristy and Rachel. They are friends with fairies all around the world, but they cannot tell anyone about them. It's a big secret. Every book is about a different fairy. And some how the fairy is always in some type of trouble. There are all types of fairies. There are different categories like the music fairies, the Jewel fairies, and the christmas fairies, and lots, and lots of others. But one fairy happens to be in trouble and Kristy and Rachel must find a way to help. In the end Kristy and Rachel help save the day or the week. These books are adventurous and fun, silly and funny. Click HERE to purchase some of the books.
Here are some of the Books.
But these aren't all of them, if your interested, you should really read them! Hope you enjoy!

Ride by Moonlight

Ride by Moonlight is one of my favorites by Michelle Bates. It's about this girl named Karen that goes to this equestrian riding center, called Sandy Lane Stables, but does not ride. She is scared to ride ever since her accident with one of the horses she was riding. She helps around the stalls and in the barns. There is a couple that runs the program that has known Karen almost all their life. The woman is pregnant and ready to give birth but her husband has to go on an important errand and leaves Karen to watch his wife. While the man is gone his wife starts getting really worried and feels like she will give birth. So in the middle of the night Karen has to go out to find a phone so that she can call the hospital. He has one problem - she won't find a phone alone and won't find a phone in time. So she decides to conquer her fears, and ride her horse. Karen has challenges on the way! Will she make it? You find out.

Whatever After Book Series

The Whatever After series is a great book series. It's about how a 10 year old girl named Abby and her younger brother Jonah are taken into Snow Whites story through their magic mirror in their basement. They get there just in time to - well just watch the video and it will explain all about the book series. But basically they end up ruining the disney princess's story, and then fix them in a quite different way.

They are so good!

Harry Potter, Book 1 and 2

To start of I really like Harry Potter. It seems like I wouldn't like Harry Potter because I love Kisses from Katie, and they are very, very different. WRONG. I love it!!! I don't really know that much about Harry Potter because I've only read the fist two. So I don't know that much about it but I am still reading it and learning. But Harry Potter 1 and 2 are great! They are so exciting and so interesting! They are a little intense and creepy but still amazing. I love how Hermione is so smart and I love how Harry and Ron each have different stories but get along really well. I love how exciting it is and how adventurous it is! There are things rooming around the halls from ghosts and goblins to wrestling tress and trolls. I think almost anyone would like it!

Kisses from Katie

Kisses from Katie is an amazing book by Katie Davis. It is about a true story on this girl that just finished her last year in high school. She is interested in going to Uganda, Africa. She first goes to Uganda with her mom to help in a home for sick babies. Then she goes there again and has very tough challenges there teaching a kindergarten class of around 135 children. She then lives there and works on adopting girls. While still in progress of adopting them she has to go to a semester of college. Then she comes back and adopts 13 children that have all been rescued and loved by her. I absolutely loved this book and hope that all the girls that are interested in helping Africa and orphans do to!! Here is a picture of Katie and only two of her girls. Go here to visit her blog. You can visit her sponsorship program website here.

Here is a video of her talking about her Amazima ministries sponsorship program.

Cute and Curly Hair

I did some really cute curls on my friends little sister! They are super cute and pretty easy! They are great for a holiday party or just for fun! These curls are also no-heat curls. I used these nice comfortable curlers.
Then at night time I just curled them up in her hair and let her have a good night of beauty sleep...

In the morning I took them out. Those curlers spent about 11 hours in her hair. They usually need 6 to 10 hours in her hair. If you put them in after you take a shower and let them dry over night it most likely won't work.
Some of the curls were messed up because she was running around a lot but here is what it looked like when I took them out.

Hope you enjoyed!

Drawing Fashion Style

I really like fashion designing and sewing clothes! About a year ago I found this book that is really cool and teaches you how to draw people and clothes. It also teaches you what kind of clothes and stuff people wore in the past. My friend named Grace is great at drawing! Here are two of the drawings that she drew. Hope you like them
P.S. They were designed to be worn in the past (around the 80's and 70's)

Grace drew this one and she called it the "Neon Green Skirt that's bold and bright"

Here is another drawing by my Grace.

She calls this one the "Christmas party Dress"
She did a christmas background also.

Hope you liked them!! I also hope you had a great holiday!

Thanksgiving in Virginia!!

Yay! It's finally the week of Thanksgiving! I am so excited! This year we are going to our grandparents in Virginia for thanksgiving. We get to see our cousins and Aunts and uncles and our grandparents! We took a plane to get to Virginia, it was thankfully only around 3 hours. Our grandparents like to decorate for christmas early, so for thanksgiving they had two christmas trees up. There is one in the Living room and one in the kitchen. It is really pretty! This is a picture of my sister looking at the christmas tree in the kitchen.

What are you going to be doing for thanksgiving?

The Dutch Braid Hairstyle

Here is a hairstyle I have done called a dutch braid. It is super cute hairstyle that can keep your hair out of your face while running or exercising or just playing around.

I did this on my friends hair, but her hair is not this full and thick looking. The way I made it look like that was I pulled the edges of the pieces, just a little bit and it makes it look very nice. Also if you are wondering how to do the dutch braid, this is how you do it:

First you have to know how to do a french braid, once you know that, you can do it. So its kind of like a french braid, except you have to put the side pieces under the middle, where when you are doing a french braid, you put the side pieces over the middle piece. So just put the side pieces under the middle piece. Also I just did the braid to the side of her head instead of strait down.

How to get Beautiful Waves in your Hair

So if you ever want to have nice beautiful hair you can learn how to get them by reading this post. This hairstyle is good for long, thick or thin hair. First you should start in the evening.

Step 1. Spray your hair just a little with water so its damp, just a little bit.
Step 2. Split your hair in two even parts.
Step 3. After that you simply braid each section until you get to the bottom.

Then after a nice night of sleep......

Step 4. Take the braids out and do not brush!

If you have hair on the top thats not wavy and its messy, just carefully brush the top and your good to go! Hope you like it and use the hairstyle!

Breast Cancer Month

October is Cancer month. Many ladies have been diagnosed with cancer. They either survived it or died from it. I know some people who have experienced or have died from it. It's not a fun to go through. There are times that when the people who have it give up or get well. I just want to remind you of the people who are experiencing it. You can donate, visit, or help in some way to help ladies with  cancer.

Camping

Have you ever been camping? It's so much fun! We camp in our backyard so if we have an emergency (or have to go to the bathroom) were right next to our house. We always have a fire set up, and eat smores and we always have a big tent we sleep in. We stay up late and talk and read books outside. We camp in the fall so it can be nice and cool. It's a great opportunity to spend time with your family and friends. Here is a picture.

Outside Activities for the Weekends

Hi Guys! It's Gabrielle and this post is about outside activities to do on the weekends.

1. On Saturdays we always have a soccer game so thats one thing you can do.
2. I love playing outside, swinging, and spending time with my family outdoors in my backyard.
3. Since it's fall we've started collecting pumpkins and painting, one thing we do with them is paint them in our backyard.
4. I would say you could plant some flowers, but theres a 85 percent chance there going to die in the winter. ;)
5. You can go biking at a close park or even in your neighborhood.

Hope these ideas will turn off the TV and let you have some fun! :)

Art

Hi! Its Gabrielle and today I'm going to tell you about art. For me when I do my art I really like to express myself. For example, I may use light and bright colors for a happy piece of art. Or dark colors for a sad piece of art. I also love making collages on canvas's. It's so fun! You can glue it a certain way on the canvas. Here is a picture of what I made. The one all the way to the right is my brothers, It's a cactus at Arizona. The one in the middle is mine, It's a cross and a heart. The one on the left is my collage on canvas. Hope you enjoy! :)

Katie Davis

Has anyone heard about Katie Davis? She is an amazing woman! At age 18 she went to Uganda, Africa to help at an orphanage for babies. She spent a couple of weeks there with her mom and did not want to go back to her home in the U.S.A.! She saw how the children where living (which is living under a tiny shack on the dirt) she felt like she had to go back! After a year of begging her parents to let her go to Uganda for another year. They finally gave in and let her go to Uganda for a year. She was going there to teach a kindergarden class and was staying in a hotel like place. Staying there for a year turned into staying there forever! She bought a house for a sponsorship program and that turned into a house for 14 girls she adopted! She know is 23 and has a sponsorship program for over 700 kids! She still lives in Uganda, and if you're really interested in Katie Davis you can read her book called Kisses from Katie.

Photography

Hi Guys!

I love Photography! I like taking photos of people, old cities, action shots - like my brothers soccer games. I like taking them from different angles and perspectives. I also like using different filters for different photos. I think sometimes you can express the picture by doing some things like that. I have an awesome camera and always bring it to special events, or just to the park so I can take some good, nice, formal pictures - or I can take some artistic pictures  and some family pictures.
